Frequently Asked Questions

A number of sensors are places at strategic points on your premises. Up to 25 devices can be installed, depending on the panel specification. When the system is armed & triggered, a 10 second video clip is transmitted from the PIR (P-CAM or Motion Viewer) to the alarm control panel. From the control panel the 200kb compressed video clip is transmitted via 3G or GPRS cellular network to a Central control room. A controller analyzes the video clip and act accordingly.  E.g. Animal movement and vegetation will be treated as nuisance alarm activations. Intruders with automatic weapons can now be prioritized.

We believe that any purchase for security equipment should be made with peace of mind. Videofied will give the Security Viewer customer peace of mind. A system and a service that will give the results that the client pays for. The important question about price is how big is the customers’ security problem and risk. We want to ensure that our customers find an effective solution to a security problem. You can’t afford NOT to invest in a Videofied system as we can meet the requirements demanded by the Small individual system through to the Large Corporate Industrialist that requires complex solutions. How much does it cost – how much value does the customer place on security? We have the answer…… Videofied.

Through market feedback, we have formulated a great security starter kit. For example, the starter kit for indoor use would comprise a control panel and two indoor PIR cameras. Included would be two remote transmitters, for arming and disarming the system. We include all the necessary batteries with the kit. This kit is a switch on, programmed and working solution. A kit has been formulated and can be used to structure the system to meet the security requirements of the customer.

The Videofied system is totally wireless, than means no signal or power cable runs are needed to any of the Motion Viewers, sirens, keypads or proximity readers.

The PIR (working device) has a standard 3.5 mm board camera built into the PIR housing. Once the Videofied Alarm is armed and there is a violation, the PIR sends the footage wirelessly to the control panel. There is very little, yet crucially important, difference between a (blind) PIR and a Videofied PIR other than the type of information they send. One sends an alarm signal that no one is sure what has triggered the PIR, the other sends a signal the verifies the activation with a video clip. It is a no-brainer which one to choose.

Yes. This, however depends on the manufacturer.

The Videofied Motion Viewers can be used where ever people have concerns about their safety and security.

Each device is programmed into the control panel and has a description. This description is noted on the customer details at the Control Centre. When the system is triggered the device will report the number and the description will be visible to the controller. The stand alone keypad (if installed) will display the violation on the LCD display

No security company in South Africa will put a claim to the fact that they can prevent 99% of false or nuisance alarms. Through the technology from Videofied, operators determine the alarm condition as false or positive, before we send out an armed reaction unit. Vegetation & animal movement are considered as false or nuisance alarms.

The security system is completely wireless, making the installation quick and easy.

A total of 25 devices can be installed onto a single system, depending in the specification of the panel. Important to note that a PIR Motion Viewer is a device, a door contact is a device, a keypad is a device, thus 25 devices in total.

The PIR mechanism will detect movement up to 12m away. This is the case for most standard PIR equipment. With the aid of infrared LED illuminators, night time video footage (0.01 lux) is between 7 – 8 meters with a 90° angle.

We specify the product up to 150 meters line of site.

Both indoor and outdoor PIR (Passive Infra-Red) devices are available for this security system, and can function in low light conditions.

Being wireless, the security system can be removed. It would be important to advise the Security Viewer control centre of the move so that the new details are recorded. We would not like to send the armed reaction to the old address details.

The security system can hold 19 user codes. Not to be confused with 19 devices, the user code has nothing to do with the amount of devices.
